Pastor in court for defrauding, And promised to secure jobs in Kuwait.
A Nairobi pastor has been charged in court with the offense of obtaining KSh 148,000 from two people by false pretense.
Appearing before Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot on Thursday, July 25, Anthony Mutua Mwangangi was accused of deceiving the duo with a promise of securing them jobs in Kuwait.
Through his Manpower Recruiting Agency, the court heard that on diverse dates between December 19, 2019 and February 1, 2019 along Tubman Road in Nairobi, Mutua obtained KSh 117,000 from Ibrahim Yakub.
He falsely pretended he was in a position to secure him a job as a driver in Kuwait, a fact that he knew was not true.
In the count he was accused of obtaining KSh 31,000 from Hadija Musa Mohammed with a promise to secure him a job as security guard in Kuwait.
Mutua denied the charges telling the magistrate he was a annotated pastor and he would not engage in such deceitful behaviour.
